The Serbian Embassy in Ljubljana did not provide additional polling stations requested by Serbian citizens in Maribor and Koper, but illegal vote-buying activities are allegedly taking place on its premises, Serbian Times has learned from highly informed sources within the Serbian community in Slovenia.

According to this source, a meeting was held at the embassy several days ago with representatives of the three largest Serbian associations bringing together Serbian emigrants and citizens of Serbia in this former Yugoslav republic.

“They were offered at the embassy to collect votes for the upcoming election on November 25, and in return, each of the three associations would receive €30,000 immediately, plus another €30,000 after the electoral process is completed. They are expected to mobilize their members and secure a minimum of 100 voters each for Aleksandar Vučić’s list,” our source says.

He adds that the promised money has already been paid to the associations whose representatives attended the meeting at the embassy.

“Half of the promised money, €30,000, was deposited into their accounts the very next day after the meeting. People who attended the meeting say that, in order to put them at ease, embassy officials told them that Serbian associations and voters are being ‘mobilized’ in a similar way in other European countries as well.”

Our source finally points out that three major Serbian associations operate in Slovenia, bringing together more than 40 cultural and artistic societies, hometown organizations and other organizations in Ljubljana, Kranj, Radovljica, Maribor, Novo Mesto, etc.
