Police in Smederevo have arrested L.R. (18) from Belgrade on suspicion of detonating and throwing two hand grenades at a hospitality venue on the Danube, as well as one hand grenade at a nearby nightclub on June 26, the Smederevo Police Department announced.

He is suspected of committing the criminal offenses of causing general danger and the illegal manufacture, possession, carrying, and trafficking of weapons and explosive materials. On the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Smederevo, he has been placed in custody for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought before the competent prosecutor along with criminal charges.
