Garages located in the immediate vicinity of the detention center in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica were demolished this morning, and the demolition was carried out with the assistance of the so-called Kosovo Police, according to Serbian media in Kosovo and Metohija.
The demolition of the structures began early this morning, with the presence of heavy machinery and increased security from the so-called Kosovo Police.
Members of Eulex, as well as Italian Carabinieri, were also present at the scene.
It concerns more than 23 structures, which the Trepča South enterprise claims to own, while the owners point out that they have all the papers for these structures.
The security of the detention center was cited as the reason for the demolition, and the so-called Kosovo Police stretched out yellow tapes last night and secured the area around the garages.
It was previously announced that the users of the garages were given a deadline to remove their structures themselves, and in the meantime, the owners requested additional clarifications regarding the legal basis and the procedure that was initiated.
The portal Kosovo Online states that the municipal inspection of North Mitrovica did not approve the demolition.
