Serbian nationals Marko A. and Julija D. have been arrested on suspicion of detonating and throwing an explosive device near an auto repair shop and a residential building in Kotor Varoš. According to media reports from Bosnia and Herzegovina, they were taken last night to the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka.
According to the reports, the powerful explosion occurred on Tuesday. Fortunately, no one was injured, but several buildings were damaged, along with the vehicle of M.B., who reported the attack to the police.
“Police are still searching for another suspect, while the motive for the attack has not yet been established. Authorities are also working to determine the exact type of explosive device used, although it is believed to have been a hand grenade. The initial findings of the investigation indicate that, after activating the explosive device, the suspects fled toward Banja Luka before traveling through Doboj and eventually reaching the Sarajevo area,” Glas Srpske reported.
According to media reports, investigators suspect that Marko A. threw the explosive device, while the role of Julija D. is still being determined.
According to unofficial information published by the media, Marko A. is known to police in Serbia and has been arrested multiple times in the past for violent behavior, as well as for setting vehicles on fire.
