Serbia’s young mathematicians have once again proven that they belong among the world’s elite. At the prestigious international competition “Olympiad USA,” held from July 10 to 14, 2026, in Houston, Texas, the Serbian national team achieved a historic success.

Competing against students from numerous countries around the world, the Serbian high school team returned home with four medals—three gold and one bronze. The gold medals were won by Jelisaveta Srdić (Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade), Relja Dragojlović (Jovan Jovanović Zmaj Gymnasium in Novi Sad), and Marko Denda (Zrenjanin Gymnasium), while the bronze medal went to Vukašin Lužajić, also a student at Zrenjanin Gymnasium.

“Olympiad USA” is a prestigious international mathematics competition for students ranging from the third grade of elementary school through the final years of high school. The mission of the Olympiad is to encourage interest in the natural sciences, develop logical thinking, creativity, and complex problem-solving skills. In addition to the competition itself, the event provides a unique opportunity for talented young people from around the world to test their knowledge against their peers and exchange experiences.
