The football club of Serbian immigrants „Dinara“ from Indiana won this year’s Chicago European League after defeating the Connection team with a score of 4-3 in the final, following a great struggle and a magnificent match full of turnarounds!
And it did not start best for Dinara…
Halfway through the first half, our boys were losing 2-0, vainly trying to overcome the goalkeeper of the European League Group B winners from numerous chances.

And then the „Connection“ defense gave way and the „Dinara“ players were touched by a bit of luck, so by the end of the first half they equalized and took a 3-2 lead!
The second part of the match took place in a very open and interesting game, only for an equalizer at 3-3 to occur ten minutes before the end.

From that moment on, „Dinara“ directed all its strength toward the attack and it finally paid off. But at what an end…
Literally in the last second, the Colombian in the ranks of „Dinara,“ Alvaro Rueda, managed to place the ball behind the back of the opposing goalkeeper for a final 4-3, which was the signal for the start of a great celebration for the Dinarians!
Two goals each for „Dinara“ were scored by Rueda and Vlado Zadro.
With this triumph, „Dinara“ managed to achieve a feat so far unrecorded in the prestigious Chicago European League, winning the title twice in a row or „back to back“ as the Americans would say!
