SNSD leader Milorad Dodik addressed the public this evening and declared the victory of Siniša Karan in the snap elections for the President of the Republic of Srpska (RS), as reported by N1 Sarajevo.

“Based on what we have counted so far, he won by 9,984 votes. I thank everyone who made it possible for the day to pass correctly,” he said, and continued:

“They wanted to remove Dodik in an unfair process, now they’ve got two Dodiks and they’ll be seeing us every day,” Dodik stated.

“The characteristic is the extremely low turnout, about 35 percent of voters. When we add the votes from mobile teams and absentee votes, the difference will be between 12,000 and 13,000 for Siniša Karan.”

“These elections were conducted under unfavorable circumstances and with the interventionism of an external factor. The victory is great for us, achieved under conditions where you had to explain others’ moves, not your own. This is a victory for the RS and demonstrates the stability of the Republic of Srpska. I congratulate Siniša Karan on his election victory for President,” he said.

He responded to Darko Babalj of the SDS, who had earlier called on Karan’s rival, Branko Blanuša, to declare victory, because it would otherwise be “stolen from him by electoral fraud.”

“I would also congratulate the other side, at least in some circumstances until now. We ran an honest campaign, and Mr. Babalj is inciting people to go out into the streets. I warn him that this could be criminal liability for people like him.”

He added that there is nothing here that could be dishonorable or unclean.

He again called the CEC “anti-legal” and stated that the election process was stolen from the Republic of Srpska.

He again called out the High Representative.

He also reiterated that the SNSD was unfairly deprived of one mandate in the House of Peoples.

“The matter started the moment they concluded that the RS has four delegates in the House of Peoples. They took one mandate away from us. They did everything to destabilize the situation in the Republic of Srpska.”

“The opposition misled its voters. To you, Mr. Babalj, I can say: go back to where you live. Don’t make trouble here. You are wrong, you are lying. Try to be fair for once,” he said.

“The main hero of this evening is Siniša Karan and the people who voted for him,” Dodik concluded after again calling out Sarajevo and referring to Bosniaks as Muslims.
