Young Serbian Angelina Topić (20) also won the title at the Balkan Championship in the Greek city of Volos. With a jump of 1.93 meters, she secured the brightest medal in the final, in a direct battle against 13-year-older Marija Vuković, a representative of Montenegro.
In her first attempt, Angelina flew over 1.77 meters, then she raised the bar and cleared it at 1.83 meters, 1.87 meters, and for the first time, she knocked it down at 1.89. She succeeded on the second try, just as she cleared 1.91 on her third attempt, and then shone at 1.93.
Vuković failed to jump that high, she knocked down the bar, and thus Angelina added the Balkan title to her recent gold from the European Championship for U23 seniors in Norway. The dominance of the super-talented Serbian woman continues.
