The news that 19-year-old T.R. from Novi Sad died in Budva during parasailing has shaken the entire region. Social media is flooded with farewell messages dedicated to the tragically deceased teenager.
T.R. was a student at the “Mileva Marić Ajnštajn” Technical School, and an informal organization of students from this school said goodbye to their classmate on Instagram.
“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the sudden passing of our dear student. In these painful days, our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who loved her,” the Instagram statement said.
Students from this informal organization announced 17 minutes of silence on Friday in her memory.
“For this reason, this Friday, at the intersection of Futoška Street and Braće Ribnikar Street, there will be 17 minutes of silence. We invite you to join us. Rest in peace. You will forever be with us,” stated the Informal Organization of Students of the “Mileva Marić Ajnštajn” Technical School.
Her friends also said goodbye to the beautiful young woman from Novi Sad.
“God took you from us too soon, nothing is the same anymore. I miss you, my angel,” a friend wrote.
“My beautiful, rest in peace,” is one of many posts on social media.
“If I could choose again who to spend my childhood with, I would choose you again. Rest in peace T.,” reads a farewell message.
400-meter height and an hour-long tour
The accident in which the young woman from Novi Sad died occurred during parasailing, a popular summer activity in which a person is lifted high above the sea with the help of a parachute while being pulled by a speedboat.
Such rides, as stated on the website of the agency through which T.R. booked the flight, take place at altitudes of up to 400 meters, last about 15 minutes, while the entire tour takes up to an hour. The activity is popular among tourists but requires strict adherence to safety measures and proper equipment.
“Currently, we cannot discuss this over the phone. We have to wait for the entire investigation to be completed,” the agency through which the girl booked her flight briefly told us.
Competent authorities in Montenegro have launched an official investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.

In the preceding days, T.R. had been posting photos from Montenegro on her Instagram account, and absolutely nothing could have hinted at such a tragedy.
Shortly after the news of the tragedy, a video showing the unfortunate girl unbuckling herself and falling from a height of 50 meters was published on social media.
According to eyewitnesses, the girl fell into the water and was immediately transported by boat to the city marina, where the emergency medical team could only confirm her death.
“It is being determined whether this was an accident or a suicide,” a source said.
The investigation is ongoing.
