The best Serbian tennis player, Novak Djokovic, defeated Argentina’s Hugo Camilo Carabelli in the third round of the Miami Masters with a score of 2-0, winning the sets 6:1, 7:6 (7:1).
The greatest tennis player of all time, Novak Djokovic, has become the player with the most victories in Masters tournaments.
With 411 wins, he has surpassed his Spanish rival Rafael Nadal on the all-time list.
Djokovic, just like in his match against Hijikata, experienced ups and downs today. His duel with Carabelli lasted 1 hour and 47 minutes.
The Serbian player started the match stronger.
Strong serves and baseline control quickly earned him a break. The Argentine struggled with his second serve, allowing Djokovic to win all eight points.
Novak took a 2:0 lead and then comfortably held onto the break.
The all-time great broke his opponent’s serve again in the sixth game, reaching 5:1, and then easily converted his second set point.
In the second set, Carabelli changed his strategy. He tried to step into the court and attack on Djokovic’s second serve.
The Argentine varied the direction and intensity of his shots, frequently using slices and drop shots to tire out the Serbian player. His plan was working.
