The Kosovo police have arrived at the scene and are investigating the incident of “UÇK” being written in the snow in front of Banjska Monastery, deputy commander of the Kosovo Police for the Northern region, Veton Eljšani, told Kosovo Online.

“The Kosovo police are on the scene and are investigating whether there is a case,” he emphasized.

Eljšani appealed to all visitors to municipalities in northern Kosovo to remain tolerant and refrain from provocations.

The Raška-Prizren Diocese expressed deep concern last night over the frequent provocations occurring in the immediate vicinity of Banjska Monastery, one of the most important shrines of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

They pointed out that unidentified individuals wrote “UÇK” in the snow in front of the monastery gate, describing it as an open provocation that further heightens the sense of insecurity among the monks and believers.

Footage from the monastery’s surveillance camera clearly shows two unidentified individuals during daylight hours, who, after writing “UÇK” in the snow, can be seen speaking in Albanian, walking around the monastery premises, and calmly descending the road without entering the monastery courtyard or church.
