The opposition tried to block the main entrance to the Novi Sad Police Station building this morning and publicly ask questions to the chief, Goran Radonjić, but the police pushed them back in a violent reaction. The police formed a cordon in front of the police station.

About thirty opposition MPs and councilors were in front of the building, and in a violent action, in just 30 seconds, the police pushed them back from that entrance.

While this was happening, a number of news crews began to fall, says an N1 reporter, trying to convey how violent the pushing was.

“They just rushed in,” says Marinika Tepić, stating that they had previously given three warnings. “We were standing normally, all the time they try to push us out… Now they were not considerate, but very aggressive, they literally kicked us,” she added.

She states that they came to ask the chief questions about who beat Ilia Kostić (74) who, after police questioning, was left without testicles. We want to see the footage, we know it exists, Tepić said, asking why no one was suspended.

Now she also says that they are demanding the dismissal of the chief, because it is obvious that he cannot be talked to, added Stevan Babić, a city councilor and member of the Kreni – Promeni movement.
