On Friday, an explosion damaged the Ibar-Lepenac canal in the village of Varage near Zubin Potok, interrupting the water supply. Pristina labeled the attack as “terrorist” and accused Belgrade of being behind it.
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated that Serbia unequivocally denies any involvement in the attack on the Ibar-Lepenac canal and called for a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation into this act of sabotage.
“Do you know what happened nine minutes after Kurti was supposedly informed? It wasn’t exactly a big surprise for him. After nine minutes, a request was made to KFOR to station the Kosovo Security Force in northern Kosovo. I ask NATO members if I’m telling the truth? On Wednesday, there are talks in Brussels. And everyone knows that Serbia is progressing the fastest. That’s why it was important to stop Serbia, to prevent it from being part of the whole story with Berlin and Paris. That’s why they wanted to create the same hype and harassment as there was a year ago. On Wednesday, a decision will be made on whether or not to open a cluster for us. I don’t slavishly follow procedures, but this would have great significance for Serbia. I now know, and I’m sure the Americans know, that we have nothing to do with it,” Vučić emphasized.
