Lara Lee Trump is not only the daughter-in-law of the US President Donald Trump, but she is also an influential media and political figure who, until recently, served as co-chair of the Republican National Committee.
Because of her, all the Republican Party leaders and sponsors in the region gathered last night in Chicago, in the hall of the Venuti restaurant, at a fundraising dinner sponsored by a Serbian-American company, Zastava Arms USA. Numerous Serbian businessmen, including members of the Serbian-American Political Action Committee, attended the dinner.
Lara Trump is the wife of Eric Trump, the middle of Trump’s sons, with whom she has two children. She is known for her very fierce media appearances and guest appearances.
She once worked as an associate at Fox News, where she will host her own show, “My View with Lara Trump,” starting tonight.
The pleasure of dining in her presence and hearing Mrs. Trump’s speech cost the guests $250, and those who wanted to meet her personally and talk to her had to pay $1,500.
Among them was a delegation of Serbian-American businessmen who stayed the longest in conversation with Mrs. Trump.
-Everything was really fantastic; we achieved our goal, and if she remembered anything from this gathering, it was the Serbs. About 40 of our people paid to be in the VIP area, and everyone emphasized who they were and where they came from. At one point, Lara laughed loudly and said:
“Oh my God, you are all Serbs here!”.

-Ranko Ristic, who sponsored the event with his company Zastava Arms USA, spoke with her privately for about ten minutes, and then we had a round table where only our delegation was present. At it, Ristic spoke about the significant Serbian support for Trump, but also the fact that the Serbian community is a significant voting body that has not gone to the elections so far, and that this will change in the future and contribute to the Republicans’ intention to win Illinois in the next elections in 2026. Ranko, originally from Republika Srpska, informed her about the situation in Serbia and Srpska, about the support that Presidents Vucic and Dodik publicly gave Trump and called on Serbs in the USA to vote for him. In the end, he gave her Dodik’s picture with a MAGA hat and reminded her of the American sanctions against him, as well as the fact that the last ones were introduced the day after he celebrated Trump’s victory, one member of the Serbian delegation tells Serbian Times.
He adds that the topic of sanctions particularly intrigued Trump, who asked if they were still in force.
-There was also talk about the Mujahideen in Bosnia, about the fact that the Serbs fought against the same people who attacked the USA on 9/11, about the fight against terrorists, Christian tradition…
The highlight of the evening was Trump’s address, in which he said that the second American Revolution began on November 5 last year, the day he was elected president for the second time.
The fundraising evening ended with an auction of Serbian weapons from the program of the Kragujevac factory Zastava and its American partner, Zastava Arms USA.
