Citizens and journalists were able to see and film a group of masked men in Kula around 4:20 PM, who were carrying bats, rods, and parts of chair legs in their hands.

Those masked men disappeared in the next moment.

Citizens gathered at the local stadium in Kula, and the police also arrived.

Believing that the police were securing the premises where the armed masked men had taken refuge, the citizens entered into a verbal confrontation with the police.

As reported by the N1 reporter, it is extremely tense and strained.

One female citizen said that a policeman pushed her, and that the police will not react to various irregularities they noticed during the day.

“That’s why I’m angry, because they protect them everywhere,” she said angrily.

At one point, citizens began pushing and shoving with the police.

Among those present is transporter Milomir Jaćimović.

“We were at the headquarters and they told us that they were beating children, there in the stadium. One female student was closing the gate so they wouldn’t get out. They had bars and axes. They told us that they broke one guy’s head. The police appeared there and went inside, picked them up and brought them into this building. When the people gathered, I opened the gate for us to go inside. However, the police won’t let us enter and see who those people are. It is a shame what is being done anymore. I call on all citizens to come,” he said.

In the next moment, the police forced the citizens to leave the Hajduk stadium premises.

Marko Starčević from Odžaci says that he was in a cafe with his neighbors from Kula when they were told that one of the activists from Kula was hit in the head with a baseball bat.

He says he did not see that activist.

“I came here, I was filming the faces of the police, one policeman hit my hand and knocked my phone out. Now they have kicked us out of here,” said Starčević.

The stadium gate is now locked, police officers are standing on the other side, and some of them have put on masks.

The portal Mašina published a video along with the claim that the police, only when they arrived, intervened against only one side – the citizens.
