Serbian art photographer Pavel Surovi from Kisač won a gold, silver, and bronze medal at the EURO CIRCUIT 2026 International Art Photography Competition in Portugal, held under the auspices of the International Association of Art Photographers (IAAP).
The gold medal was awarded to the portrait “Countess Bathory,” silver went to the photograph “Mary Magdalene,” while the bronze medal was won by the work “Zorka.” This is the second time Surovi has won gold in Portugal, after winning the FIAP Gold Medal for the photograph “Serbian Warrior Woman” at the CULTURE SHOT competition earlier this year.
Surovi points out that international juries are increasingly recognizing his cycle of photographs inspired by Christian iconography, alongside the already award-winning body of work “Serbian Warrior Women,” thereby, as he says, representing Serbia on the international scene through art.
During the autumn, three significant presentations await him in China – within the framework of the photo carnival in Taizhou, as well as two solo exhibitions in Beijing and Yunnan province. In Kunming, he will also hold a masterclass in art photography, presenting to the Chinese audience a selection of works from his most famous cycles, as well as photographs taken during his stay in China.
