The Serbian national basketball team defeated Greece with a final score of 76:66 in their first preparation match in Limassol, Cyprus. After the game, the opposing team’s coach, Vassilis Spanoulis, spoke to reporters.

The “Eagles” continued their winning streak during the preparation phase. After victories against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland, our team also proved to be better than Greece.

Following the match, Greek coach Vassilis Spanoulis addressed the media. “It was a good game. Both teams showed good intensity, and we played against the favorites for gold. I think we played good basketball on both ends of the court. We are still growing, and this match will help us for the official ones. We like to play against the strongest teams; that’s why we scheduled this game. Giannis [Antetokounmpo] will help us a lot; he and our other players will give their maximum to make us look better.”

Spanoulis explained that his team expects these types of matches at the European Championship. “This is how the big teams will play. Serbia played great defense, they played hard and tried to win. We didn’t give up, it was an excellent game. The players aren’t at their maximum, both teams missed some open shots, but I believe it will get better.”
