After masked thugs broke in last night and violently expelled students from the State University of Novi Pazar, citizens are gathering in front of the University building and showing support for the students. As the academics inform us, a police cordon is still securing the faculty building, while the masked thugs who were inside, along with members of the administration, have left the building. They add that police from Raška and gendarmerie from Kraljevo are arriving.

The situation in front of the State University of Novi Pazar remains tense after masked thugs violently expelled several students from the building in the middle of the night.

Students have called on other colleagues to join them in front of the University building, as well as citizens. As the students inform us, there are currently around a hundred of them present.

Police officers are still standing at the very entrance to the building and are not allowing anyone to enter. Students say they are disappointed that the police are protecting the masked thugs who pulled and dragged them, and that they don’t know who they are.

The masked men, they say, have left the building, as have the members of the administration, while at the same time, police support from Raška and Kraljevo is arriving.

They are calling on citizens to join them at the gathering to agree on further steps.

A female student says they tried to enter the faculty, but the police are preventing them from approaching the doors.

Those gathered announced that they will remain in front of the University until students are allowed to enter the premises.
