The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia (RHMZ) warns that today will be very hot with maximum temperatures ranging from 35 to 43 degrees Celsius. A red weather alert and an urgent meteorological warning from the Ministry of Interior and RHMZ are in effect for most of the country.

Clouds and rain are expected in the evening, with potential localized severe weather. A drop in temperature and a noticeable change in weather are anticipated for Sunday.

With high temperatures, the risk of open-air fires increases. Severe weather is expected for Saturday evening in northern and western Serbia, and during the night into Sunday, and on Sunday itself, in other parts of the country, RHMZ announced. It will be very hot, mostly sunny in the morning, and variably cloudy in the midday and afternoon. Local short-term rain and thunderstorms are expected in Vojvodina and occasionally in hilly and mountainous regions, primarily in western and southwestern Serbia, as well as in the Homolje-Kučaj Mountains area.

Moderate, occasionally strong, southerly and southwesterly winds will blow, shifting to northwwesterly in the evening and during the night. The lowest temperatures will range from 17 to 25 degrees Celsius, and the highest from 35 to 40, locally up to 43 degrees. In the evening and during the night, a significant increase in cloudiness is expected with rain, showers, and thunderstorms. Localized severe weather is anticipated: heavy downpours with thunder, hail, and strong to stormy short-term northwesterly winds in the zone of the most intense showers, primarily in northern and western Serbia.

In Belgrade, it will be very hot, mostly sunny in the morning and variably cloudy in the midday and afternoon. Moderate winds will blow, briefly strong southwesterly in the afternoon. The lowest temperatures will range from 22 to 25 degrees Celsius, and the highest will be around 39 degrees. During the night, there will be a significant increase in cloudiness with rain, showers, and thunderstorms. Localized severe weather is expected in certain parts of the city.
