Retired U.S. General Wesley Clark told ABC News that Serbia should recognize the so-called Kosovo and that he is proud of the bombing of Belgrade.
Clark, who was in charge of NATO forces that bombed the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1999, stated that he is proud of that operation, which he claims resulted in peace in the so-called Kosovo.
“I’m very happy that we were able to bring peace and democracy to Kosovo. Alongside us, there was also a large group of people who were part of this operation, a great operational group, because we saw that a great crime and injustice were being committed, inhumane treatment. We wanted it to stop, so that people in the region could have peace and security,” Clark said.
He also stated that Serbia must recognize the so-called Kosovo and move forward by accepting this fact.

“I don’t like to see tensions. Serbia must know the facts, and the facts are that there were crimes and killings in Kosovo during Milošević’s rule. Ethnic cleansing occurred in both Bosnia and Kosovo, people were killed, and they cannot simply return and live in peace with each other. Serbia must accept Kosovo and the Albanian people, accept a future without Kosovo. Stop the attacks, the past is over,” Clark said.
