Due to the temporary closure of the bridge on the Sava and the Gradiška border crossing, trucks at Jasenovac are waiting 16 hours, and passenger cars in Dubica three hours.

Due to the closed border crossing, big crowds have also formed at other crossings between the two countries, Croatian media report.

This extremely frequent border crossing between BiH and Croatia was closed last night due to the collapse of a part of the bridge and the fence.

The situation on the ground, as the Zagreb-based Jutarnji list writes, is additionally made more difficult by the introduction of the new European Entry/Exit System (EES), due to which biometric data are taken from third-country nationals upon their first entry.

The most difficult situation at the moment is at the Jasenovac (Donja Gradina) border crossing, which suffered the greatest pressure from freight traffic. There, according to the latest HAK data, truck drivers wait up to an incredible 16 hours to enter Croatia, while passenger cars stand in line at Jasenovac for up to three hours.

Huge crowds were also recorded at other surrounding crossings. At the Hrvatska Dubica (Bosanska Dubica) border crossing, passenger vehicles wait as much as three hours to enter Croatia, while at the Hrvatska Kostajnica (Bosanska Kostajnica) border crossing, the wait in line is about an hour.

The Brod-Posavina police and Hrvatske ceste reported that traffic coming from the direction of Croatia is urgently being redirected already at the Okučani junction to an alternative route via the Slavonski Brod border crossing on the DC53 state road.
