The Prime Minister, the statement continues, asked Scholz for support “in resolving the issue of Serbian airspace, which has been closed to commercial flights to and from Kosovo for 25 years, causing both financial damage to airlines and environmental pollution due to extended flights to Kosovo”.

Kurti told Scholz that Serbia’s willingness is demonstrated by its reservations about the Basic Agreement on the normalization of relations with Kosovo and the non-extradition to Kosovo of “the main terrorist Milan Radoičić, but also his group for which there is already an indictment of the State Prosecutor’s Office” of Kosovo, the statement says.

Kurti also emphasized his commitment to regional cooperation and expressed full support for the Berlin Process and the implementation of agreements from that process, including those signed and agreed upon today: the Agreement on Access to Higher Education and Admission to Studies in the Western Balkans and the Action Plan for a Single Regional Market for the period from 2025 to 2028.
