KIRGYOS TESTED POSITIVE FOR COCAINE: Australian Suspended Until Further Notice, His Reaction Surprised Many!

Nick Kyrgios has been suspended after testing positive for cocaine. The Australian tested positive during the Mallorca Open at the end of June. Benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, was found in his blood.

At that tournament, he was defeated by Britain’s Adam Walton in the first round.

Kyrgios has been ineligible to play since August 4. The former world No. 13 has the right to appeal the suspension, but he has not done so yet.

In an Instagram post, Kyrgios wrote that he had made a major mistake and that he takes full responsibility.

The Australian has played just four matches this year, as he has been struggling with wrist and knee injuries.

He played his last match in the doubles competition at Wimbledon, where he was defeated alongside Alexander Bublik.

Nick Kyrgios has been a close friend of Novak Djokovic in recent years, and last year they even played together in the doubles competition at the tournament in Brisbane.
