Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Traffic Police Directorate in the Police Directorate, stopped V. T. (20) with an interceptor this morning around 2 a.m., on the territory of the municipality of New Belgrade, who, driving a “Volkswagen Golf” vehicle, was moving at a speed of 182 kilometers per hour, on a section of the motor-way where the speed limit is 80 kilometers per hour.

Further control determined that the driver who was stopped in New Belgrade was in a state of severe intoxication, as the breathalyzer test determined that he was operating the vehicle with 1.31 per mille of alcohol in his system.

Also, it was determined that he was operating the vehicle without a driver’s license, which had previously been revoked due to penalty points.

The driver was excluded from traffic and detained in official premises, and a misdemeanor report was filed against him for reckless driving and other more serious offenses.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs appeals to drivers not to endanger their safety and the safety of other traffic participants with irresponsible behavior and gross violations of traffic regulations.

Members of the traffic police will continue with increased controls and consistent sanctioning of the most serious offenses in order to protect the safety of all citizens.
