Branko Babić, a well-known businessman close to Aleksandar Vučić’s regime, has publicly reacted on social media to reports about the lavish 50th birthday celebration of Nikola Petrović, the godfather of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. The party allegedly cost around three million euros and was held at the Palazzo Pisani Moretta in Venice.
After Babić commented on and criticized this “extravagant celebration” on his TikTok account, Nikola Petrović (whom he addresses as Džoni in their correspondence) sent him private messages, which Babić subsequently made public in a video.

“Yesterday I mentioned the extravagant birthday parties of Vučić’s godfather, and here comes Džoni immediately, wanting an explanation ahead of everyone else,” Babić says in the video.
According to Babić, Vučić’s godfather sent him the following message:
“How did you get involved in this Venice story? Are you aware of what you’re doing and what you’re getting yourself into?”

“Džoni, I’m fully aware of everything. I’m not getting myself into anything; I’m simply saying what the entire nation sees and thinks. If you think you can scare me, you’ve got the wrong address.”
This public exchange attracted considerable attention because it once again brought the spotlight onto the three-day festival of luxury in Venice, where guests were entertained by famous performers such as Petar Grašo, Saša Matić and Aco Pejović, and which reportedly involved private jets and charter flights operated by Air Serbia.

NOTHING WITHOUT HIS GODFATHER: Nikola Petrović (right) and Zlatibor Lončar (left)
According to information obtained by Serbian Times, renting the Palazzo Pisani Moretta in Venice alone cost Petrović €2.5 million.
How much everything else cost — food, drinks, service, accommodation, flights and more — is something we can only speculate about for now.
Nevertheless, the estimate that Petrović spent three million euros on hosting the event appears to be very close to the actual figure, and the total may have been even higher, depending on the performers’ fees.
Serbian Times is exclusively publishing photos from Nikola Petrović’s 50th birthday celebration in 2024, where the best-known guest to the public was Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar, described in the article as an associate of the Zemun Clan and known by the nickname “Doctor Death.”
A GREAT TIME IN VENICE: Aco Pejović provided the musical entertainment for the milestone birthday
Look at these images and think about how you have spent all these years struggling to make ends meet, being laid off, harassed and beaten, barely managing to get by, and being blackmailed with the threat of losing your job into voting for the very same people who, during that time, were getting rich and flaunting their wealth, spending millions on their extravagant celebrations.
Enjoy your freedom. And use your heads next time!
