Serbian MMA fighter Aleksandar Rakić defeated Poland’s Marcin Tybura by unanimous decision after three rounds at UFC Belgrade in the Arena.

With this victory, Aleksandar Rakić returned to winning ways after four consecutive defeats in the UFC.

The bout also marked Rakić’s heavyweight debut, and he successfully began a new chapter in his MMA career.

Aleksandar Rakić opened the fight with several strikes. He then put together an excellent combination, landing multiple shots to the Pole’s head and shoulder while frequently attacking with kicks and delivering powerful blows to Tybura. Rakić also attempted a kick to his opponent’s liver but narrowly missed.

After that, Tybura tried to surprise Rakić but failed to connect with several hooks. Both fighters remained cautious, fully aware that a single strike could decide the outcome of the fight. Tybura took control toward the end of the round and landed several solid punches of his own. One of Rakić’s hooks also found its target before Aleksandar connected with a high kick against Tybura. However, the Pole remained unfazed.

That concluded the opening round, which could be said to have gone in Rakić’s favor.

A Successful Heavyweight Debut

At the start of the second round, Tybura complained to the referee that Rakić had poked him in the eye, but the fight quickly resumed. Both fighters continued cautiously, becoming even more measured as the bout progressed.

The Polish fighter then attempted a head kick, but Aleksandar managed to avoid it. Tybura looked dangerous midway through the second round, while Rakić answered with a straight right hand. By the end of the round, the significant strikes were level at 14-14.

The fight then went into the third and final round.

It was clear how much the victory meant to Rakić, coming after four consecutive defeats in the UFC. The Serbian celebrated emotionally, crossing himself before dropping to his knees. After his emotional post-fight interview, he joined the crowd in a chant.

“Let me hear you, Belgrade! Man, everyone should experience this kind of happiness at least once in their life. But not everyone gets the chance. Thank God, Jesus Christ, glory to God for everything. I’m very happy about this victory. I prepared for a long time. It was difficult after four defeats. I was fighting for my job here. I knew that with this crowd behind me, I couldn’t lose.”

As he shouted “Aleksandar,” the crowd responded in unison with “Rakić.”

They repeated the chant several times, as 20,000 voices echoed through the arena with cries of “Rakić, Rakić.”
