Well-known Novi Sad lawyer Nemanja Aleksić, who was arrested on Saturday in Novi Sad, tested positive for the drug amphetamine (speed), Danas has learned from sources in the Novi Sad prosecutor’s office.
Aleksić was tested with a rapid drug test for narcotics, and the test confirmed that the lawyer was positive for amphetamines, Danas reports.
At the proposal of the prosecutor’s office, he was detained for up to 48 hours on suspicion of committing three criminal offenses: obstructing an official in the performance of official duties, endangering safety, and violent behavior.
According to Danas’ sources, during the night police searched his apartment and law office.

Nemanja Aleksić was arrested on Saturday after attacking a driver with a club following a traffic dispute.
A traffic police patrol that happened to be at the scene tried to intervene, but Aleksić resisted the officers, who then took him to the ground and handcuffed him.
Incidentally, Nemanja Aleksić is the defense attorney for Goran Vesić in the “canopy case”.
