The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that only the will of the people can have legitimacy, not the decisions of unelected foreigners and decrees. In the morning program of RTRS, he pointed out that stability in Srpska was confirmed by the decision of the National Assembly to call a referendum.
“The NSRS session is only proof that the situation in Republika Srpska is stable. We are focused on peace and functioning. We will make decisions in a democratic way,” said Dodik, emphasizing that there is zero tolerance for any form of violence in Srpska.
Criticism of the European Union and “sleepy democrats”
Dodik sharply criticized the European Union, which he called a “deceitful story” that will “collapse” in the next year. He recalled that he himself once worked on European issues, but that, as he points out, “circumstances have shown the true face of the EU.”
“Europe is a deceitful story. There is nothing from European integration. It has failed. Look at the deception they constantly send us. They send us a foreigner to introduce some rules here,” he said.
The people against the dictates of foreigners
The President of Srpska emphasized that sovereignty can belong only to the people, not to foreigners, whom he called “steeped in robbery and thievery.”
“We will hold a referendum; I don’t want violence, but I want the people to express themselves. I will respect the will of the people. And why doesn’t Schmidt respect that? What is decisive – the will of the people or the will of a decree?” Dodik asked.
He added that BiH is a “contractual country” created by the Dayton Agreement and that “in the end, the will of the people will prevail.”
Message to the opposition and an offer for Srpska
Dodik assessed the biggest problem to be the “servile opposition susceptible to Sarajevo.”
“In BiH, the will of the people will eventually win. BiH is a failed country of diplomatic adventures. The time of referendums is coming, in which we will decide our fate,” he said.
He pointed out that one of the basic rights is the right to vote and be elected and assessed it as humiliating that elections in BiH are conducted by foreigners.
“My offer is this: let’s return the competencies to Republika Srpska – to elect its president, its parliament, and local communities, and I will not run. It is important to me that the Republic gets what belongs to it. Republika Srpska must return to itself,” Dodik emphasized.
“The referendum is only the first step”
The President of Srpska announced that the upcoming referendum is just the beginning.
“This referendum is only the first. Whatever its answer may be, I will act accordingly,” he said, pointing out that Republika Srpska has achieved undeniable successes.
As a reminder, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted a decision on calling a referendum regarding the verdict of the Court of BiH and the decision of the Central Election Commission on the termination of the mandate of the President of Srpska. The referendum is scheduled for October 25, and the question is:
“Do you accept the decisions of the unelected foreigner Christian Schmidt and the verdicts of the unconstitutional Court of BiH issued against the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, as well as the decision of the CEC to revoke the mandate of the President of Srpska?”
