Milorad Dodik, the President of Republika Srpska, said that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska will adopt a decision that no elections called by the BiH Central Election Commission will be held on the territory of Republika Srpska, and after that, a decision to hold a referendum.
Dodik, who is also the leader of the SNSD party, said that his party and its coalition partners will not participate in any such elections.
“From what I can see, the PDP is also announcing this, while the others apparently want to. I just want to tell them that those elections are pointless and will not happen,” Dodik said.
He stated that the citizens have already expressed their will in the elections where he was chosen as president.
“We are going to the Assembly; there will be no elections, Milorad Dodik will remain president. We will make a decision on a referendum,” Dodik added. He called on citizens to turn out for the referendum, emphasizing that it is “one of the destiny-defining referendums,” which will be followed by others that, he says, will pull Republika Srpska “out of the deadly embrace of BiH.”
“No school, no cultural center will be allowed to be used for holding elections. Any participation of people in polling committees for those elections will be considered a criminal offense for undermining the constitutional order of Republika Srpska; we will change the laws and make that happen. In that way, we will tell people to stay away. There are a number of things we will do on this issue. These are legitimate processes,” Dodik pointed out.
The President of Republika Srpska assessed that major global changes are happening after the meeting of U.S. and Russian presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, in which Europe is absent because it lacks leaders who could sit at the same table with world leaders.
According to him, this is the collapse of the EU and its policy, which is why they are flexing their political muscles on Republika Srpska and Serbia.
“Return us to the Geneva and New York concept. We want to be a negotiating party and a party to an agreement in BiH. If you don’t want to, then expel the fake High Representative and annul everything he has done. That’s a huge step, he won’t do it. That will give us the right to say, ‘You have violated the Dayton Agreement, the Constitution, and we are moving towards the affirmation of our legal self-determination.’ I would love for that to happen immediately, but I think it’s better to go gradually and get to this situation,” Dodik concluded.
