The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, said that U.S. President Donald Trump has almost taken full control of the processes in the U.S. and that while there are still impacts from the deep state, Trump’s persistence gives him optimism that those who created foreign states and nations will be removed.
“Trump said that his administration will abandon its support for failed concepts of creating states and nations, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina. Of course, there are still some people who have remained in the administration and sit in the State Department who do not follow his policy,” Dodik stated on RTRS’s morning program.
He emphasized that they will find a way to explain the situation to Trump’s most important associates. “You have people in the State Department who don’t follow his policy. He says that he will stop dealing with other countries and interfering in internal affairs. Then a State Department delegation comes to Sarajevo at a confusing moment, and a representative of the old administration says, ‘just do your job, and the U.S. will recognize the verdict’—referring to my case. It wasn’t a few days later that they in Sarajevo did exactly that,” Dodik said.
He noted that they are “very close to the opportunity to present our situation” and that he expects understanding.
“We have the support of people in positions in America and our friends who say, ‘wait a little longer, don’t give up the fight, all of this has been wrong for 30 years, America has an obligation to change its attitude,’ and we are waiting for that. I am saying this publicly because I have been given promises of that kind,” Dodik stressed.
