A 22-year-old man attempted to kill a 33-year-old Serbian citizen inside the premises of the Zagreb Police Department in Črnomerec, Zagreb police announced.

The incident occurred yesterday at around 5:55 a.m. in the official police facilities on Oranički Odvojak Street, while the two men were being held together in a detention room.

According to the police, the 22-year-old attempted to kill the 33-year-old using physical force. Police officers immediately intervened, and the attack was stopped after they entered the room.

The assaulted man sustained injuries and was provided medical treatment at Sveti Duh Clinical Hospital. The severity of his injuries has not yet been determined.

The criminal investigation is ongoing, Croatian outlet Index reports.
