Attorneys of Veselin Milić have submitted a criminal complaint to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, the Special Department for the Suppression of Corruption, against the Head of the Criminal Police Directorate Marko Kričak and the Head of the Crime Suppression Service Boško Sekulović, over the suspicion that they abused their official position in the “Senjak 27” case.

According to a statement from the “Vasiljević legal” Law Office, the criminal complaint was filed due to suspicion that Kričak and Sekulović, as co-perpetrators, committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position under Article 359 of the Criminal Code, to the detriment of Veselin Milić.

The statement notes that the essence of the complaint lies in the fact that, as Milić’s attorneys claim, the reported persons did not submit to the competent public prosecutor’s office the evidence available to them, from which, according to their assertions, it emerged that the facts stated in the criminal complaint against Milić were not accurate.

Lawyers state that this was confirmed by the subsequent rejection of all allegations from the submitted criminal complaint and its supplement, as well as that because of this, within a period of only two months, a “complete turnaround” occurred in the proceedings conducted against their client.

According to allegations in the statement, Veselin Milić was not privileged in this proceeding, but rather, as his attorneys state, he was harmed by the unlawful and malicious actions of the reported persons.

They claim that such actions led to the initiation of criminal proceedings against Milić and the ordering of detention, whereby, according to their allegations, his rights to personal freedom, honor, reputation, and dignity, as well as the right to private and family life, were groundlessly restricted.

The statement further notes that the reported persons, “out of personal motives,” discredited Milić in public and led to his removal from the post of Head of the Police Directorate for the City of Belgrade.

“All of this led to an unjustified public condemnation of unprecedented proportions and other severe consequences that no citizen of this country deserves,” states the release from the “Vasiljević legal” Law Office.
