In Kosovo Polje today, the house of retirees Jordan and Slobodanka Ristić, one of the few remaining Serbian families who stayed to live in this town, was broken into, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced.

As stated in the announcement, the Ristić family, despite pressures, did not leave Kosovo Polje or sell their property; instead, they remained living surrounded by Albanians.

“When they returned to their home today from a visit to their daughter, they found a plundered and ransacked apartment from which household items and a television were taken, and even their faucets were torn from the wall,” the statement says.

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija states that it will help the Ristić family compensate for the damage, as this robbery is also a blow to their existence.

“This is a new ethnically motivated incident orchestrated by Albanians, and almost a day does not pass without a new attack on Serbs being recorded, especially south of the Ibar. The fact that such attacks remain unsolved and unsanctioned only encourages new incidents and extremists and shows that there is no genuine intention from Priština to build sustainable coexistence,” the Office for KiM announced.
