The Disciplinary Commission of UEFA*** has made an official decision in the proceedings against FK Crvena zvezda regarding a banner displayed by the Belgrade club’s most passionate supporters during the second leg of the Europa League qualifying playoff in Plzeň (5:1).***
The banner was dedicated to Ratko Mladić, and UEFA imposed a hefty fine (€98,250 in total), but the Serbian champions managed to avoid the closure of the stands at the “Rajko Mitić” Stadium for their upcoming matches in the first phase of the Conference League.
However, the sanction includes a ban on Red Star fans attending the club’s first European away match (Lugano, October 15), as well as the second one in Ghent (November 26).
And here is what UEFA’s statement says.
“The conditional disciplinary measure imposed by the CEDB by decision of April 9, 2025, due to racist behavior by Crvena zvezda supporters, is activated. This means that Crvena zvezda is prohibited from selling tickets to its supporters for away matches for the next one UEFA club competition match.
Crvena zvezda is fined €40,000, along with a complete ban on selling tickets to its supporters for one additional away UEFA club competition match, due to racist and/or discriminatory behavior by supporters. This additional ban is suspended for a probationary period of two years, beginning from the date of the decision.
Crvena zvezda is fined €50,000 for conveying a message that is inappropriate for a sporting event.
Crvena zvezda is fined €8,250 for improper conduct by the team.
Crvena zvezda player Osman Bukari is suspended for a total of three UEFA club competition matches for which he would otherwise be eligible to play, due to an assault on another player,” UEFA said in its statement.
