Radomir Saičić, a full professor at the Faculty of Chemistry in Belgrade, a member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and a representative of the Student List, explained what results he expects in the government’s first 100 days and what deadlines will be set for fulfilling the most important promises.

In an interview with NIN, Saičić said that a program exists and that its implementation, as he added, would be measurable. He first explained what he expects during the first 30 days of the new government.

– It is not possible to provide a broader overview of the planned activities in the format of a newspaper article, but let us touch on the economy alone, which is probably among the topics readers are most interested in. During the first 30 days, the stability of the dinar exchange rate, regular payment of salaries and pensions, and energy supplies will be secured, including oil, gas, and the operation of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia. To that end, our delegations will hold talks in Washington (the expiration of the OFAC decision on the temporary suspension of sanctions against NIS) and in Moscow (the gas arrangement), with the aim of negotiating longer-term agreements. The 2027 budget will also be determined and adopted, with a shift in spending priorities and greater transparency – Saičić said.

Over a period of 100 days, he says, measures will be taken aimed at “decriminalizing the state, restructuring, and professionalizing management.”

– This includes reviewing projects of public importance, restructuring state institutions and companies, professionalizing management, introducing a new incentive system, and strictly monitoring and punishing corruption. Companies that illegally obtained their positions will be shut down, while commercial disputes created by the previous government through irresponsible conduct, as well as disputes arising from criminal activities, will be resolved. During this period, illegally acquired assets belonging to officials and party financiers will be recovered. Within one year, reform laws will be adopted (for example, legislation covering telecommunications, insurance, air transport, banking fees and retail, tax laws and anti-corruption legislation, a securities law, and others). Investment and digitalization issues will also be addressed during this period… In the coming period, we also plan to involve our leading scientists and entrepreneurs from the diaspora, establish high-tech companies with research and development centers, and develop a knowledge-based economy in line with the high standards of the 21st century. The program has been carefully prepared, and leading international experts worked on it. The same applies to other areas – Saičić said.
