The first session of the new convocation of the REM Council ended today after more than two hours, but the president and deputy president of the Council were not elected.
The session was chaired by the oldest member of the Council, Dubravka Valić Nedeljković, who told journalists after the session that candidates for president Miloš Garić and Mileva Malešić received four votes each in a secret ballot.
She clarified that six votes are needed to elect the president of the Council, although so far eight out of the nine members of that body have been elected.
Valić also stated that a session will be held again soon where the president and deputy president of the council will be voted on again, and that the procedure starts from the beginning.
