“Today, within the framework of extensive, continuous, and intensified activities carried out on the occasion of the EU – Western Balkans Summit, at the Tivat Airport border crossing, the Montenegrin police carried out intensified border and security controls, during which a charter flight on the route Belgrade–Tivat, which brought 87 citizens of the Republic of Serbia to Montenegro, was isolated and placed under control,” the statement from the Police Directorate reads.
The citizens of Serbia who were banned from entering Montenegro today had banners reading “Serbia wins,” a long-distance communication device, and a marine radio station with them on the plane, it was officially announced by the Police Directorate (UP), as reported by Vijesti.

“Today, within the framework of extensive, continuous, and intensified activities carried out on the occasion of the EU – Western Balkans Summit, at the Tivat Airport border crossing, the Montenegrin police carried out intensified border and security controls, during which a charter flight on the route Belgrade–Tivat, which brought 87 citizens of the Republic of Serbia to Montenegro, was isolated and placed under control,” the statement reads.

The police stated that they determined that a portion of the Serbian citizens who arrived in Tivat the day before the EU Summit had attended numerous public gatherings of high security risk, and that some of them had been recorded for committing criminal acts and misdemeanors with elements of violence.

“Based on the security checks performed, risk assessment, and profiling carried out, the aforementioned persons were dealt with in accordance with the law,” it is stated.
The police seized two buses with Serbian registration plates, which were, as suspected, intended for the transportation of “guests from Serbia” who arrived this morning on a charter flight from Belgrade.
