The mini-football national team of Serbia failed to qualify for the final of the European Championship as the selection of Azerbaijan was better in the penalty shootout in the semifinals with 3:1 (1:1).
Azerbaijan, who is the reigning world champion, will have the opportunity to win the European title as well.
The first half was balanced.
In the first ten minutes or so, Azerbaijan had more chances and was the more concrete rival, and after a mistake by Serbia in defense, they took the lead with a goal by Bagirov in the 12th minute.
Vujović equalized to 1:1 in the 19th minute.
In the second half, Serbia had a greater initiative, and the match was extremely rough, with a lot of contact.
Although Serbia had more opportunities and was the more dangerous rival, they could not shake the opponent’s net, so the match went to penalties.
During the penalty shootout, the opposing team was calmer, so Serbia has to be satisfied with the bronze medal, which is shared by the semifinal participants.
