Anastasija Cvetković was stopped in the quarterfinals of Roland Garros in the first match on court number 10, suffering a 6:0, 6:2 defeat from the tournament’s second seed, China’s Xinran Sun.
Although she had multiple game points in the second games of both sets – which would have established or restored balance in this match, the young woman from Niš did not use those chances – while the exceptionally motivated Chinese woman played excellently in those moments and rounded up an overall superb performance to qualify for the semifinals.
Interestingly, the seventeen-year-old Sun has been living in Belgrade since the age of ten and trains at the “Park” tennis club in Košutnjak, and her coach Goran Životić is with her in Paris – meaning our experts made an important contribution to yet another success of the young Chinese woman.

Anastasija Cvetković continues her performances in Paris in the fourth match of the day on court number 8 in doubles with the American Tyra Caterina Grant – where her opponents will be the compact Czech pair Kovačkova – Zajičkova. We hope that the “pride of the south” will shake off the negative emotions from this defeat and bring new joy to a large number of fans at home and here in Paris already this afternoon.
