The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, met this morning at the Palace of Serbia with the President of the European Council, António Costa.

Aleksandar Vučić and António Costa first spoke face-to-face, which was followed by plenary talks between the delegations of Serbia and the European Union led by Vučić and Costa.

During his address, President Vučić pointed out that he has high expectations from the summit in Tivat.

“See you tonight in Montenegro, if I do not represent a hybrid threat,” Vučić told Costa at the end of the address.

Previously, Vučić also took to his Instagram, where he stated that he was not frightened by the security threats due to which the Security Intelligence Agency (BIA) advised him not to travel to Montenegro, where he is scheduled to participate today in the European Political Community Summit in Tivat.

“Take off Vučić’s head – I am neither afraid, nor am I fascinated by threats. The only thing I care about is how to make our people live better and how to make Serbia even more successful,” Vučić said on his Instagram account.

Vučić’s post followed after the BIA announced that for security reasons it had advised the president of Serbia not to travel to Montenegro due to, as they stated, findings that the leader of the Kavač clan, Radoje Zvicer, is located there.

“For reasons of the highest importance for the tasks entrusted to the Security Intelligence Agency, we communicate that it is necessary to make an announcement that due to the hostile activities of foreign services and criminal clans in Montenegro, the President of the Republic of Serbia was officially advised by the Security Intelligence Agency not to travel to Montenegro, because the existence of a high security risk was established. According to our operational findings, Radoje Zvicer, the leader of the Kavač clan, is in Montenegro,” states the BIA announcement.

As a reminder, Vučić is scheduled to participate in the European Political Community Summit in Tivat, a gathering that brings together the leaders of European countries and the highest officials of European institutions.

Additional tensions between Belgrade and Podgorica were also caused by yesterday’s case at the airport in Tivat, when a charter flight from Belgrade was detained for security checks.

As announced by the Police Directorate of Montenegro, banners reading “Serbia wins,” a long-distance communication device, and a marine radio station were found among the passengers.

Following the conducted checks, all passengers on that flight were banned from entering Montenegro and were returned to Serbia.
