Crvena zvezda Meridianbet defeated Partizan in the first derby of the ABA League this season with a score of 100:96 (24:21, 20:25, 29:23, 27:27). Saša Obradović’s team, after this clash, stands at 15 wins and five losses, while this was only the second defeat for the Black and Whites, and the first loss for Joan Peñarroya in the regional competition alongside 18 victories.

This was a fierce, spectacular derby in the Belgrade Arena. The only thing missing was a packed crowd to celebrate a Partizan victory, as Zvezda managed to defeat their eternal rival in a shootout-like battle. The excellent Dobrić hit four three-pointers from as many attempts, Ojeleye was also perfect from distance (2/2), and Jared Butler added (3/5). Partizan could not stop that.

Although they had the lead during the first half, everything turned in the second part when the excellent Joel Bolomboy also had a great role, sealing the fate of the Black and Whites and handing Joan Peñarroya his first ABA League defeat.

The most efficient players for Crvena zvezda were Joel Bolomboy with 14 points, McIntyre added 13, Butler and Dobrić 12 each, while Kalinić and Ojeleye scored 10.

For Partizan, double-digit scorers were Fernando (15), Jones and Milton added 12 each, and Jackiri had 10.
