SCANDAL IN CROATIA: Former minister and police officers sang Ustasha songs and celebrated Ante Pavelić! (VIDEO)

In the video published by former Croatian minister and DP member of parliament Josip Dabro, where he sings Ustasha songs, two police officers also participated, local media report.

These are police officers who play in the tamburitza ensemble “Divandžije” in their free time, and who played at the controversial celebration in Komletinci, where Dabro sang the disputed lyrics.

“24sata” was the first to report on this, having requested a statement from the Brod-Posavina Police Administration, from where they received an affirmative answer that their officers were playing in the disputed video.

The police will determine eventual responsibility in this case for each officer individually

-One of the police officers contacted his superior on his own initiative as soon as he learned the content of the video. The police officer expressed regret that he found himself in those circumstances, which, according to him, he could not have predicted nor did he know Mr. Dabro from before – the police replied to 24sata, and such a response from the Brod-Posavina Police Administration was also confirmed for Jutarnji list.

The police will individually determine eventual responsibility for each of their officers who appeared in that video.

They add that these are officers who are privately involved in tamburitza music and occasionally perform within a folklore association. The police emphasize that eventual responsibility will be determined for each individually, but it can be seen in the video that the police officer who was playing did not join Dabro in singing the verse dedicated to Pavelić: “in Madrid a tomb of gold, in it lies the leader of all Croats.”

Plenković: I condemn Dabro’s behavior

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković condemned today the behavior of the Croatian Parliament member from the right-wing Homeland Movement and former Minister of Agriculture Josip Dabro, after videos were published in which he sings pro-Ustasha songs, but emphasized that the stability of the ruling coalition will not be jeopardized because of it.

-We, of course, condemn Dabro’s behavior. Such a thing should not, nor will it jeopardize the stability of the coalition, that would be ridiculous. On the other hand, we understand the reaction of the Croatian Social Liberal Party. We believe that through dialogue we will find solutions that will enable the smooth functioning of the majority and the Government – Plenković said at a press conference.

When asked by journalists what he would do if Dabro repeats the incident, Plenković expressed faith that it would not be repeated.

-We believe it won’t. This is not the worst thing that happened, that could have happened. That is the most important thing – Plenković believes.

He assessed that he is not responsible for the incident in which Dabro published a video in which he sings “When Stjepan Radić was dying,” which also includes the lyrics “In Madrid a tomb of gold, in it lies the leader of all Croats,” which alludes to the Ustasha quisling leader of the Independent State of Croatia during World War II, Ante Pavelić.

-I cannot nor will I be responsible for anyone else, let alone for someone who did something that even members of his own party do not agree with – Plenković said.
