One person was arrested at the Batrovci border crossing on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of war crimes against the civilian population.
“Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Criminal Police Directorate, the War Crimes Investigation Service, in cooperation with the Security Information Agency, arrested M.L. (46) from Peć at the Batrovci border crossing, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of war crimes against the civilian population,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić.
M.L. is suspected that during 1998 and 1999, as a member of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army – Dukagjini Operational Zone, he first underwent selective training and then participated in terrorist attacks directed at members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Yugoslav Army.

“As a member of that group commanded by Ramush Haradinaj, he participated in the kidnapping and massacre of police officers,” the statement said.
The suspect has been ordered to be detained for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought, along with a criminal complaint, before the War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office, Minister Dačić said.
