SNS deputy Uglješa Mrdić, who is otherwise the proposer of the set of judicial laws recently adopted in the Assembly, admitted that he proposed them because certain prosecutors planned to arrest specific ministers from the Serbian Progressive Party, and as he says, also the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

Yesterday, Mrdić was a guest on the morning program on K1 television, where he spoke about the situation in the judiciary and the effects of the recently adopted laws.

Following the host’s question whether the new set of judicial laws was passed because the SNS is dissatisfied with its personnel solutions, such as the Republic Public Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac, Mrdić said that they changed all their personnel solutions when they did not work well. Then he practically confirmed that the new set of laws was passed to prevent the arrest of SNS ministers.

“Because they started with the arrest of ministers from the SNS. Because they wanted in the end to arrest President Vučić, to be open. Because they would start arresting people. They wanted to carry out a color revolution to the end, to overthrow the state,” said Mrdić.

As a reminder, a few days ago, Vučić signed the laws that Mrdić proposed and the Assembly adopted. The professional public has been warning for months that the application of these laws will practically abolish the independence of the judicial branch of government and place it under the control of the executive.
