Serb List today took power in four municipalities in the north – North Mitrovica, Leposavić, Zvečan, and Zubin Potok – as well as in other Serb-majority municipalities: Gračanica, Štrpce, Novo Brdo, Parteš, and Ranilug. The constitutive session in Klokot, where Serb List also won, will be scheduled later.
New convocation of the Štrpce Municipal Assembly constituted
By verifying mandates and taking the oath, the new convocation of the Štrpce Municipal Assembly, consisting of 19 councilors, was constituted today.
The new convocation consists of 19 councilors, of whom 12 are from Serb List, two from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, while one councilor each belongs to the party “For Freedom, Justice and Survival,” the civic initiative “Justice and Equality,” the Self-Determination Movement, the Democratic League of Kosovo, and the independent candidate Bekim Avdiju.
By taking the oath, Ivica Tanasijević assumed the office of mayor. In his address, he stated that he would be the mayor of all citizens regardless of nationality.
Milović: With our work, we will restore the reputation of our municipality
The mayor of Zvečan, Dragiša Milović, addressed the assembly after assuming office, saying that after three years, Zvečan now has legally and legitimately elected representatives in the local parliament.
“After three years, Zvečan on this day receives legally and legitimately elected representatives in the local parliament. And all of that with the will, desire, and votes of our citizens. Therefore, I use this opportunity to thank our citizens who placed their trust in us. This is a great honor for all of us, but also a great responsibility. And I believe that together we will justify the trust of our citizens. That through our work and knowledge we will make life easier for the citizens living in Zvečan. That with our work we will restore the reputation of our municipality, the municipality of Zvečan,” said Milović.

After taking the oath, the newly elected mayor of North Mitrovica, Milan Radojević, addressed the councilors.
“The citizens gave us their votes to bring change. In the previous period, certain changes took place that the citizens opposed, and they clearly showed their will in the elections. It is time to close the dark chapter of the municipality of North Mitrovica. We believe we will bring prosperity to all citizens and restore multiculturalism and coexistence, which has always existed in our city,” said the mayor.
Adriana Hodžić was elected deputy mayor.
Earlier, 14 out of 15 councilors took the oath. The only one absent was Aleksandar Arsenijević of Serbian Democracy, who is not currently in Kosovo and Metohija because he is wanted due to weapons found on his property, which he denied.
