U.S. President Donald Trump’s statements about Russia are very serious, stated Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, adding that Russia needs time to analyze the messages from the United States.
“President Trump’s statements are serious; some of them were addressed personally to the President of Russia. We certainly need time to analyze them,” Peskov said, as reported by RIA.
Dialogue with Kyiv and Putin’s Response
He stated that Moscow is ready to continue dialogue with Kyiv, adding that Washington, and “allegedly Europe,” also desire the same. Peskov added that Putin would comment on Trump’s words if he deems it necessary. “Let’s await his decision,” Peskov said.
He also noted that Moscow has not yet received any signals regarding a potential next round of negotiations with Kyiv. “It’s hard to say what that’s connected to, but we are ready to continue the dialogue,” Peskov said.
Peskov assessed that the decisions made in Washington and NATO are not perceived by Kyiv as a signal for peace, but rather for the continuation of the war.
