Novak Djokovic will indeed play one tournament immediately before the start of the French Open in tennis, as he has accepted a wild card from the organizers of the Geneva Open (May 17 – 24), the host confirmed today.
The best tennis player of all time was eliminated early from the Masters in Madrid and then suddenly decided to skip the tournament of the same class in Rome. Now, however, he has decided to participate in the battle for the title and 250 ATP points in the aforementioned Swiss city.

This decision comes despite him spending the last few days on vacation in the United States, meaning he faces a long journey back to Europe and a battle with jet lag. All this with the very important Roland Garros just around the corner (May 25 – June 8).
The winner of 24 Grand Slam trophies played in Geneva last year as well, reaching the semifinals where he was defeated in three sets by Tomas Machac. This spring, the tournament will also feature Taylor Fritz, Casper Ruud, Grigor Dimitrov, Machac, and other notable players – a total of 17 players from the top 50 on the ATP list.
