A group of Serbian tourists was returned from the borders of Moldova at the end of April.

This was stated by Saša Radomirović, who publishes travelogues and travel tips on TikTok.

“And this, my people, happened. In all my years of traveling, something like this has never happened to me. On Tuesday, April 29th, the Moldovan border guards did not allow me to enter their country. And not only me, but the entire bus from Serbia with 54 passengers who regularly and organized with the Trip Top agency set off on this tourist trip. And the reason: We are a threat to the security of the state, because during our stay, I don’t know what we could have done, some kind of espionage or sabotage activities for Russia according to them. This is a real diplomatic scandal without precedent, because here they didn’t just return me, they returned the entire bus because we as Serbs are a threat to Moldova, and the border guards openly told us that. They were extremely kind, had good intentions to let us through, but the order came from the top of the state and the intelligence service,” Radomirović stated on TikTok.

@sasa_radomirovic VRAĆEN SA GRANICE 🛑 I ovo se ljudi moji dogodilo, koliko dugo putujem, nikada mi se ovako nešto nije desilo. #putovanje #moldavija #granica ♬ original sound – Sasa Radomirovic

They were supposed to visit the capital of Moldova, as well as the self-proclaimed but unrecognized state of Transnistria.

“The idea was to visit Chisinau and go to Transnistria. We all had good intentions with this visit, and we are also rare Serbs who decided to visit this country and thus also help their economy and tourism. I am very sorry that the very top of the state recognized us as some kind of enemies, not friends. My desire to visit Moldova has not ceased, and one way or another, sooner or later, I will try to enter it again,” he said.

This is not the first time that Serbian citizens have been prevented from entering Moldova. Namely, during 2023 and 2024, citizens of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro were repeatedly detained at the border and prevented from entering Moldova, and some were even arrested and deported. The reason for this, as the Moldovan authorities claimed at the time, was information about alleged training for causing unrest ahead of elections in Moldova.

In October, Moldovan authorities claimed to have identified more than a hundred young people who were allegedly trained in Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia to destabilize the country.

Moldovan police arrested four people at the time, it was stated on October 17th.

About 100 other people were “documented” and an investigation was conducted against them, but they remained free.
