Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić has stated that, following the order of the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) has offered the State of Israel assistance in extinguishing large-scale fires around Jerusalem.

“Following the order of the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, and reacting to the unprecedented forest fires in the vicinity of Jerusalem, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has offered the State of Israel assistance in extinguishing these large-scale fires,” Minister Dačić announced.

He specified the resources offered, stating, “Three heavy-lift helicopters, two Kamov Ka-32 helicopters with a capacity of up to 5 tons of water each, and one Super Puma H-215 helicopter with a capacity of 4 tons of water, are ready for deployment to operate in the endangered area should the situation not stabilize.”

Minister Dačić further elaborated on the preparedness of the Serbian teams: “The Helicopter Unit and the Sector for Emergency Situations are carrying out preparatory activities so that this assistance can be dispatched the moment colleagues in Israel assess that it is necessary.”

“The MUP is in constant communication with the Israeli side, which has expressed gratitude to the Republic of Serbia for the offered assistance,” Minister Dačić concluded.
