After the horrific incident on Tuesday at an elementary school in Kaluđerica, where an 8-year-old second grader chased two of his classmates with a knife measuring about 20 centimeters in length, the Ministry of Education issued a statement for Blic. According to the Ministry, the school is taking action in accordance with regulations and procedures in the area of violence protection. Blic also obtained footage of the incident, including audio, capturing the chilling moment when a child is heard fleeing from the attacker.
“Parents have been notified, the Violence Protection Team is in session, and the Ministry of Education will monitor the school’s actions and take further measures and activities to resolve the situation,” they added to Blic.
“Run, he has a knife, run!”
Blic obtained a video taken by one of the children who managed to record the conversation with his mother while running from the 8-year-old who was carrying a knife.
“What did I do to you?!” the child recording the video shouted. Then, he warned his friend: “Run, he has a knife, run!”
As seen in the video, the frightened children quickly ran away, trying to escape from the boy carrying the knife.
The video’s author managed to tell his friend to run to his apartment, and then abruptly ended the call with his mother, saying the distressing words: “Mom, bye! He has a knife!”

According to Kurir, a parent of one of the students happened to be on the school grounds and managed to stop the boy with the knife, after which the police were called.
The chilling event has deeply disturbed parents, who say that this boy has caused serious incidents before. As a result, they decided that their children would not return to school until further notice.
“The boy is an excellent student, but he’s unstable. A few days ago, he brought a scalpel to school, which was confiscated during class. No one knows why he brought it or what he planned to do with it. Not long ago, he also strangled a child, and it has happened that he comes to school and says: ‘Oh, I’m so nervous today, I’m going to kill someone,'” said one parent of a student at the school, adding that they had raised concerns with teachers about the boy’s deviant behavior, but nothing was done.
The parent also mentioned that the 8-year-old had no personal issues with the classmates he chased.
“The incident happened around 3 p.m. The boy had finished classes, went home, and brought a knife back to school. In the schoolyard, he found two boys whom he chased, but he would have acted the same way if any other child had been there…” the parent explained, adding that the school principal held a meeting with the parents the previous day:
“The decision was made that the child will not go to school for a few days and that he will undergo certain medical examinations. However, this is not a permanent solution. As parents, we are requesting that measures be taken so that he no longer attends this school and that the school hires security. We even told the principal that we, the parents, are willing to pay for security ourselves if it means our children will be safe,” the parent explained.
At this elementary school, they told Blic that they could not speak to the principal as she was in meetings and had not responded to the questions sent by email.
Parents Did Not Send Their Children to School Yesterday
The mother of a first-grade student at this school, visibly shaken, spoke to Blic yesterday. As she revealed, many parents decided not to send their children to school because they feared that such a scene could repeat, or that something even worse might happen.
“We, as parents, are scared. It’s certainly not safe. He could do something much worse,” the mother said.
According to the mother, the boy is known for problematic behavior and seems to be left to his own devices.
“The boy, as I’ve mentioned, is left to himself, he’s uneducated, I’ve heard this from others. No one has a kind word for him or his family. He’s out there in the yard all day with his younger brother,” she added.
This woman denied claims that anyone is bullying him, emphasizing that he is the one who goes around bullying other children.
“He goes to school with my child in the same shift. We’re really shaken, this is horrifying and awful,” she concluded.
